Almost There, Yabit

Sarah Alison Jones is best known as
the creator and author of Yabit and Tiny.

Winter Walk with Yabit

Genesis According to Yabit (Part One) tells the fanciful tale of Yabit’s creation and her battles with the evil Lucian Ess and his ever plotting little chief of staff, Tiny.  Part two and part three are currently in process and will be along in time.

In Counterfeit Yabit, Yabit is dispatched to a small harbor community in southwest Washington where an unlikely pair of siblings have been convinced to abandon an old palace assignment. Join Yabit as she confonts not only her ancient adversaries, but finds herself also in a life and death struggle battling pride, ignorance and a dangerous obstiancy in the very people she has been sent to help.  A sequel is also in process.

Bear's Story Elizabeth Anne and Jenny Marie have found the hidden manuscript of their beloved Mistress Sarah. While she is away on vacation they decide to turn the manuscript into a real book but they will have to enlist Bear's help. With more work than anticipated, will the long neglected dolls finish in time to surprise their mistress and win back her attention?

From Cover to Cover takes you step by from cover to cover through the process Sarah used to make her own hard cover book with equipment already found in many homes. Includes Bear's Story, the delightful tale of how From Cover to Cover really came to be written.

Sarah Alison Jones, the Author

Sarah Alison Jones is a pseudonym under which two authors collaborate their talents and skills. Alex makes his home in Raymond, Washington in a large apartment above the “big blue beer barn” overlooking US Highway 101 on the south and the Willapa River to the north.

Virginia lives in South Bend, Washington where she has a view of the Willapa River and the cities of South Bend and Raymond.  From her hillside home she can also keep an eye on the “big blue beer barn” and the South Bend airport both of which play prominent roles in Counterfeit Yabit.  Her secluded basement workshop serves as the design center for Yabit and Tiny.

Sarah Alison Jones in Her Younger Years

Writing is not new to the authors.  The story teller started at an early age when, seated in his high chair, he pounded for the attention of the other seven family members seated at the table and began his fanciful tales.  The transcriber-helper soon came along to transcribe the stories and, using their mother’s sewing machine, transform old bed sheets into the stuffed characters of their stories.  She does not remember a time when she could not read or write.

Today when they are asked “What is it that you do?” they may sing the song that Yabit taught them.

"Making the toys we made when we were young
Writing the stories we wrote just for the fun.
Working with the tools our father could not use,
Singing the songs we did not know to sing.”
